    • I once attended an "open mic" event where local musicians got to perform 2 of their songs. Many talented artists took the stage and hit us with their best shot. As things seemed to be winding down, an awkward mass of matted, shaggy hair with an aquiline nose barely protruding strode onto the stage and nervously confronted the mic. A voice confirmed there was a young man hiding just beneath. While the other performers had done their level-best to 'show themselves' in some demonstrative fashion (mostly mimics of artists-du-jour featured on MtV, Kirk Cocaine and the like), this young man presented with a trembly energy that wanted to flee. Although I never saw or heard anything from this artist since, I still remember his name and one of the two songs that came out of him. That was more than a decade ago.

Miles up in the air he flew, He just murmured, Toodle-oo!
        Righty-O!

you're not giving old folks enough credit, IMO

                      • Tyke.....not trying to be disrespectful but you have to listen to the song to understand. I feel more at home with those who are older and wiser than most of my generation. You can only make new friends. Old friends come from lots of time spent together no matter the distance.
