200ft vs 500ft

I don't see the fit. Forrest said something to the effect that many searchers were within 500ft and a few within 200 ft.
Isn't this the opposite for NMH? The road is 200 feet of the treasure? next to the parking lot. I would think if this location was 200ft there were many searchers. If so where its the 500ft mark?

Do I have this backwards on NMH?

doesn’t think it was at 9m for all that long. Wasn’t wet enough inside.

Those who drove past on the road were within 500 feet. Those who walked along the north bank of the Madison River were also within 500 feet. There were lots of these.
Those within 200 feet explored the far side of the river, opposite Fenn Rock, or crossed fully and walked along the south bank of the river. There were few of these.

Yup, I hear that. We are right to be intentionally suspicious of everything the man said. So often hints are interred. Could be as simple as Roman numerals (another reference to 2 Cs) or a complex anagram hidden in the entire sentence.

I wouldn't say perfectly. I believe Forrest was a little more precise than what you have shown.
The clues dont match IMO. Brown is not a fish. Browns are all over the place in Yellowstone.

I would like to see a solve of NMH and the clues explanation.... Water does not halt at Madison junction, below the home of Brown is not down river. Where is water high? Heavy loads? What are both? The blaze that is impractical to remove?

How was Forrest not seen at that parking lot? So many tourists pass there daily. Even in slow days..

I never recall f saying searchers were within 500 feet, he said people. He said a few searchers were within 200 and more than several he thinks figured out the 1st two clues.
He chose his words carefully.

It is a lovely thought to have a puzzle piece fit in. It is Simpatico to say "X-gets the square." (Hollywood Squares). It is another thing entirely to force a puzzle piece into place, or to make a square fit into a circle, or a round peg into a square hole, or even a stick, into a box. And while the explanation you suggest does seemingly account for Forrest's words, it is not the smoking gun for a solution that is "straight forward with no subterfuge in sight." That solve.....is the one that can prove location....remember Forrest said to focus on "where the first clue is." Location, precludes the first clue as it comes before the first clue. The first clue is a function of "where the first clue is." Maybe go back to the drawing board with location? IMO, (and according to Forrest) the horse needs to be in front of the cart; location....is the horse.

Regarding the 200/500 foot thingy....I'm not going to show it now, but I have before....and that is the bronze US General Land Office marker that has "250.00 Penalty for Removal" stamped onto it.....just at 200 feet or so - from the excavated hole I found at Bisti, two weeks after the announcement the chest had been recovered. Anyway...there are many ways to arrive at meaning because of that marker....and because of what it says stamped into the bronze. Point is.....that I can provide the same kind of explanation you do. Two trips...there at Bisti to the parking lot is like 2.87 miles too.......what did Forrest say? A few miles....and 2-trips. Anyway.....back to the drawing board, 9MH.....you need location first....it is a requirement as per Forrest.....
