Heh, I'll be honest I thought this huckleberry stuff was aimed at me. I had emailed f a couple days before this came out telling him I was heading back up to Hungry Horse reservoir ( near Glacier) and the last little town before you turn off is like the huckleberry capital of the world.

Then after this came out I emailed f again and told him I'd pick up a bottle of jam for him. I should have realized that if he mentioned a place in a scrapbook that that meant it wasn't there but I was super pigheaded about this one spot.

This thread was not in reference to just SB204 "Huckleberry stuff" but all the beginning of the end SB's from SB202 forward.

Did anyone have anything specific to them in the SB's? That clearly identified he was talking to you?

"Me and Dizzy Dean" (188) and "Wherever the Bugle Blows" (247) are the only two I thought were directed at me. I have my reasons.

Well, if you'll notice, Forrest didn't say anything at all about Glacier in that scrapbook. He was supposedly talking about West Yellowstone.

IMO, I was the deep thinking treasure searcher. I met Forrest in Tucson at the True Westerner shindig. I got there about 30-45 minutes early and saw him walking around the hotel grounds. I walked up and introduced myself. He asked me if I was part of the shindig and I said " no, I'm a treasure searcher". He smiled and asked if I found the treasure yet. I said no but I have gotten as far as "George". He hesitated for about a half a second as the smile left his face. He wished me luck. I said thanks and walked away. About 5 minutes later he came up to me and asked " What did you say your name was? " I told him again and he thanked me and walked away. After the award ceremony was over I noticed him in the restaurant at a table facing me as I was walking by. He also saw me and watched as I walked by. The deep thinking scrapbook came out shortly afterward.

That's a very grandiose title for someone who wrote a handful of stories, self-published them, failed to market them and then took them off sale when it complicated his tax returns - with practically no returns! Maybe I'll try again when I'm no longer able to spend my afternoons rambling across the glorious Welsh/English border counties.

I see what you did there, Space Hopper. I agree, he was talking specifically to everyone who listened.

I remember, after coming back from Colorado in September 2019, I made a real effort to go cold turkey on the chase. I think I lasted about a month. When I eventually looked in at Dal's site I was stunned to see so many SBs had been released in the meantime. Of course I was soon hooked again!

This has been the most addictive drug I've ever taken.
