Did anyone have anything specific to them in the SB's? That clearly identified he was talking to you?

I didn't think he was talking to me but I did take note of this scrapbook when it came out, since about every little shop and store around West Glacier sells wild huckleberry jam and pies. Not that there aren't huckleberries in a lot of other places, too, but those folks sure seemed proud of their local berries.

Not that there aren't huckleberries in a lot of other places, too, but those folks sure seemed proud of their local berries.

My wife and I were stopped by a ranger on our way out to Coffin Lake (near Hebgen), and warned about the huckleberry bushes halfway up the trail attracting bears.

I believe this is how he communicated with the Lead searcher at the time, which wasn't Jack. Jack is only a mule. Not via reply email.

Maybe he did. Trouble is, if you don't know you're the lead searcher, you wouldn't necessarily understand the communication.

Yes, I concur, only if a SB reply was specific to the person, then they would know.
