"From THERE it's no place for the meek"

He has gone alone there and it's a place that's not for the meek. One example of this place is HELL, and I believe this could relate with his battle with cancer. Sure, he had support from his family during this time of his life, but the battle with cancer is in his body alone. So where or what is "there"? I'm not sure, but it's below the home of Brown according to the poem..

"Put in below the home of Brown"
"From THERE it's no place for the meek"

To get the HELL out of THERE, one could go to receive chemo and radiation. After some time, if everything works, the cancer is gone and you ring the bell as one is free from that hell. According to the poem, ringing the bell could relate to "go in peace".

In the end, this poem might just take us through Forrest's memories; one of them being his battle with cancer. So if we were to find "chest", we need to get the HELL out of THERE!!! So to answer your question above, yes, it needs to be done QUICKLY!!!! IMO!

Like we hear all the time, not everything is what it seems.
And what about my hypothesis that the area where the treasure was hidden was full of TV- and radio relay broadcasting antennas on a butte mountain? I think Forrest was not sure about the effect on health of that kind of electromagnetic radiation…certainly after his cancer. That is IMO. And therefore I understand why he said that tarry scant means “Get the hell out of there”’.

I once thought of this, back in my Colorado solve days. "So hear me all and listen good." Mr. District Attorney is about to come on...

It didn't look like a place to hide a valuable treasure but it was there and Jack was even let down when he realized where f had placed it. It's funny how searchers overestimated where an old man would hide his treasure but they also underestimated him at the same time.
If this isn't obvious, I have no idea what you are looking for. Fenn's name in the cliff, exactly where the clues lead, is just about as obious as anything could be. If you want a special place to die, this sure beats a random pile of rotting logs in the middle of nowhere special.
