  • Jack gave a key piece of information in his questions and answers segment.

He said if he had a song that stuck out about the chase, it would have to be "In a river" by Rostram. To me the final spot was probably a place Marvin took Fenn as a child and camped and fished at.

Logically speaking our childhood memories are the riches of old.

Nine mile fits because the irony is that it is only for one to go in ALONE. And when we die we are ALONE. It is the place where he wanted to die...no doubt about it.

He did it tired (Rode there as a child on his bike) and has done it weak (As a man near the end of his life).

And whose to say that while Marvin Fenn fished in 9 mile hole, Forrest and Skippy didn't play in that spot it was found. It was their special spot and their secret. May not look like much, but that's that. I remember a spot I use to play with my brother. Wouldn't stand out to the average eye, but the memories...

It's so simple. Warm Water halts at the Madison. Take the river down the canyon. Put in below the home of brown/Fenn rock as a marker(Nine mile hole). River crossing (End is drawing nigh, No place for the meek). Heavy loads- Gear-Backpack-Treasure...whatever you are schlepping across the water high. Enter the woods, and that was where Skippy and Forrest used to pretend they were knights. Blaze is a marking where they used to play.

Said he never grew up and has been 13 his whole life. Take it with a grain of salt, but because there was only room for one at nine mile hole (his dad) Skippy and Forrest were left to use there imagination and find a special spot to keep entertained.

Bud. I get he was a pilot...but his church was in the mountains and river beds where dreams go to play...

Forrest could give a rats ass about a plane crash in the middle of nowhere. It wasn't a flight. It was good memories made with someone who he was best friends and brothers with in a place all their own...Two can keep a secret, if one of them is dead. Enough with the plane crash voyage in the middle of a place noone cares about...

Literally he's not going to have created a hunt about a spot he was umbilically attached to about a pile of junk in bumfuck Egypt...sorry.

That's ok, it's just evident to me...but to each their own. Except Not4but242...Who keeps referring back to a scrap pile on a mountain in BFE

F did it 'Tired', in reference to Grebe Lake where the Gubbermint car was Tired, as in flat tire. Grebe Lake is the head waters of The Gibbon River.... Also, why did f. Name the horse Lightning? The horse was old and slow.. IMO, this was a hint, for lightning where 42 lighting strikes set ablaze YNP.
It is fun seeing some of my old memories come back home again. f

Seems straightforward in a likely spot that he had fond childhood memories of. Bias is a bitch though
