None, because he directed us to do so. Never attack a fort at the main gate.

Maybe 35-40 times. Finally I just typed the whole thing out so I'd have it in digital format, then could search it for what I was looking for.

About 20 - 30 times total, and additionally each chapter revisioned a couple of handful of times.

About 5 times cover to cover, and 10 more times in additional single chapters or passages... but why?
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

Probably just once, but read each of the individual chapters between 3 and 10 times.

Countless times, this is why I was in Yellowstone starting in 2018.

Everything forrest did, wrote and talked about provided hints. So it was in understanding his thoughts which clarify hints.

Just slightly beyond where it started falling apart.

I probably did my 35 times more like you describe. Maybe 15-20 times straight through, then in bits and pieces which probably total the rest. Honestly, I kind of lost count. But Forrest said to read the book, then read the poem, then read the book again. So that's what I did. Searching for that elusive trick to finding the right WWWH. Didn't waste much time with the rest of the poem until I was satisfied with my WWWH. No sense in worrying about Mr. Brown until I nailed down my WWWH. Fenn said to figure out WWWH first, so that's what I concentrated on.

                            All for naught, apparently.
