  • Trying to read between the lines (as always), I suspect there may be three people with the right info. Interestingly, although FF has previously stated he expected people to act immediately once they knew, this year he has recommended waiting until summer. Maybe that's to do with the spring weather, or maybe he has some other agenda. Not that it matters (especially for people like me who live a long way away), but I am curious as to why. Btw, I'm not one of those who thinks that the date of retrieval is particularly important.

      Hah. That’s funny. I hope there is a new kid on the block! That would be wonderful. That would indicate that two people are heading in the right direction.

      • " A dear friend sent me an email today to announce the birth of a grandchild. She sounded like she had just won the lotto. "

        The purpose of the email was to announce the birth.
        It was a birth announcement.
        The grandchild is the focus of the email.
        The main attraction.
        A star is born.

        ". . .birth of a grandchild. She sounded like she. . ."

        If "she sounded like she" is indication of a hint toward homophone(s), then it also indicates that it is referencing a past-tense, by the use of "sounded like".
        In other words, the homophone will be found in something that has already been said.

        birth sounded like berth.
        Berth = put in.

        It is also a port, or a harbor. A landing.
        Warm waters, like all waters, halt when they level off.
        As I've said before, a harbor is a warm water port.

        I'll save you some time, I checked all of those and the lotto-winning match-up is 'superstarz'.
        https://www.classicthesaurus.com/superstarz/synonyms
        That gives you 'stardust'.
        The big C.
        Again, cancer and street names for drugs.
        Your very own Colorado Rocky Mountain High.

        superstarz = stardust
        Tarry scant with marvel gaze.
        She sounded like she, but what did she mean ?
        Only the phantom knows

        • Interesting. Port also means to the left as well as being an anchorage. But it is also closely related to portal: Chiefly Scot. a gate or portal, as to a town or fortress.

          Halt! Who goes there?

          • Another interesting tidbit is that the Western Interior Seaway, which covered much of the search area and divided North America into Laramidia (to the west) and Appalachia (!) disappeared around 66 million years ago at the start of the Paleogene era. Waters were definitely high before that. The influx of warm waters from the south and cooler waters from the north meant there were significant differences in fossil deposits in the different regions. I'm not sure whether this has any significance to our quest, but it certainly helps expand one's thoughts about time - and about waters.

              What is going on people with this poem, we need to sort some teams to sort this out. Who's up for teaming up?

                    Yes, it's a music video called Beautiful Mess, which is how I see the chase.
                    Guy can't think straight due to the 'thrill of the chase', and all the big dogs standin' around arguing while the chest is waiting for someone to just walk straight to it, pick it up, and leave.

                        I put my shoes on the wrong feet

                        • I almost wonder if the only way to have 100% confidence is because he will eventually drop a very specific hint that only the closest will know? The more I go, the less confident I become. So I’m just not going again. I’m doing opposite of what I tell my kids...

                          Anyway I do believe patience is very important. Waiting might be part of the final stretch. Set it free I says...maybe it’ll come back to me I hopes....

                          I’ll say one thing about Forrest. He’s got grit, patience and focus like none other.

                            But there are also such in the poem.

                              It is fun to arrange words in such a way that you have to smile at the end of a sentence.
                              I'm pretty sure that "sentence" has more than one meaning here.

                                I've been married three times. I'm proud to say one of my favourite sayings, especially to my kids, is "If at first you don't succeed, give up and try something else"
