1.There is so much debate about the capitalization of fish! You said the capital B in home of Brown made sense in that context. So, is it a brown trout or a Brown Trout?!
I think if you're interested in things like that as possibilities, you would need to analyze Forrest's writing to see if he would normally capitalize it or not
2.Do you think tackling hoB specifically would work as a good method of solving this?
I don't see anything wrong with trying to focus on a particular clue, but it's important to see the big picture at the same time and not try to work it out in a vacuum
3.Could the poem be solved by cracking particular location clues, all while totally bypassing the narrative you've spoken about that is part of the poem? Or do you need to understand the story to make the location clues work?
I don't see how they could. It's not a hodgepodge of different ideas like you could see in a scavenger hunt. It's a coherent narrative. You have to understand the overall story; how else would you be confident that's where he wanted to die?
