Registration, Forum Rules and Notes

So we have had a huge surge in new accounts and old accounts signing in as well. Odd. I have over 1000 in the last couple weeks. I will be manually approving at this point. Email me kpro 3 at then aol dot com and I will manually approve you.

A couple of general notes:
- As a registered user, you have up to 500 private messages.
- This is a purchased site with the latest software updates, meaning the security is up to date and errors should be minimal. Report any errors and there is a support team that will look into it.
- Visitors can not post, but can view the forums.
- You will need a valid email to register. Due to spam issues, all users will need to be approved prior to posting.
- Moderators will not have access to any portion of the site other than the ability to edit, move, or delete threads.

This is an open forum for discussion. A few rules / guidelines:
- Keep the discussion civil, don't curse and refrain from personal attacks.
- If you state you have the chest, you must provide proof within 24 hours of the claim / post or the moderators will step in. (See update below, this rule has been modified).
- Rules will be amended as specific situations arise, but mods have the right to make the call in the spirit of the forum to be a place for good discussion.
- Do not pretend to be Forrest Fenn on this site. Forrest Fenn is a registered member (ForrestFenn) though does not receive communication (private messages or other communication) here. That is the only registered user that should represent themselves as Forrest.

The moderators will make the call if someone has overstepped, which will result in at least a warning and up to permanent banning.

All users will be treated equally and rules applied to all, no exceptions.

Moderators reserve the right to ban users and refuse member access to anyone at their discretion.

Had several requests to be able to post pictures. Have limited to 1MB, but enabled. Enjoy.

You have the right as an active member to alter or delete posts. If banned, this privilege is revoked. No admin or moderator will delete individual threads or posts for banned members. In short do not post something you do not want on THOR.

We don’t have access to PM boxes, but if there is a consistent user we receive complaints, we will ask for screen shots then take appropriate action as a *last resort*. Otherwise, there is a feature to block a user in the user profile function and we encourage those to use that as well.

If you claim the treasure is no longer in its location, you have in your possession the TC, or the hunt is a hoax, you must provide proof at the time of posting. This is an update from a previous rule that you needed to provide proof within 24 hours. This change comes from the recent update that Forrest Fenn has indicated to THOR administrators that once he is notified by the finder, he will communicate the update to THOR to notify the search community of the hunt being over and the chest has been successfully retrieved. Since this is the case, it is even more important that we tighten up this rule. At time of posting. Period.

If a user requests to have their account deleted, that user will be moved to the banned status to fulfill this request. This does not mean that they violated the rules rather a simple way to handle these requests.

- At this point, everyone who requests to be deleted will be moved to banned like before. I also can not or will not answer questions about banned users. Know I try to be fair and in most cases see things on this side that others do not. I also would prefer not to have discussion of these situations on threads.

- I have changed the rule of when you are banned you can asked to be reinstated where I take the time to go back in and reinstate the account. I am going back in several times for several of you, banned, back, banned, back. Time I can never get back, wasted time, IMO. You will now need to start a new account with a new user name once your account has been put inactive by your request. That will move the time spent over to you to start a new account and hope this lessens these situations.
