Ah, I gotcha. Be careful, it still seems pretty brutal out there.

I believe the part about the best solve being clearly in the lead. I'm not convinced that everybody's going to notice, as that is too broad a general claim.

But not a single person out there was searching for the treasure as a favor to him. They were all doing it for themselves.

Finding the treasure couldn't be much of a favor to Fenn, even in the best case. He got more enjoyment and benefit while the thing was not found, and the "legend" continued to grow.

Given the SELL comment, Have you ever looked at the Junkyard near Wall St. Southwest of Cody?

Pretty good waterfall there from satellite view, and an X to mark the spot as well.

Maybe this is why the LS is acting like such a cocky ---hole?

I haven't. But I'd like to see the satellite view. Please help.

Forrest dumped all these scrapbooks at the end of the 2019 season, then the finder finds it almost immediately at arguably the start of the 2020 season. It's pretty logical to think the scrapbooks kicked something loose over the winter for the finder.
Something revealed itself that was revealed to Forrest and then he dumped the remaining scrapbooks. Except for One big one

Well, Jack has since come out and said the scrapbooks don't have hints, don'tchaknow. Yet you must read everything Forrest wrote to know the man and solve the non-puzzle. It's not as onerous as it sounds. Jack found where Forrest wanted to die in a couple weeks. But if you must read everything, there must be hints as to who Forrest was in what you read, thus hints to the non-puzzle, eh?

Eh, screw it, Jack doesn't know WTF is up. What's the big one?

There you go again, Mr. O.P.--

No one called Forrest a Cocky ___hole. He dealt out hints and clues like a professional Western gunslinger.

I for one, admire a person that is confident in their person and solve. If that person is hinting or sharing clues, aren't they doing it at their own peril?
It takes either conjones or stupidity (or both) to share hints with the community, not knowing who might figure it out and beat him (or her) to that special spot.

It kind of reminds me of society's values.
A man who sleeps around and is a womanizer is labeled a stud.
A woman who does exactly the same thing...is a whore.

                        So LS..
I'm a big fan of yours. I'll walk a mile through the snow in your shoes. Just give me a call.

                          You're mistaken Mr. Lion

Forrest didn't leave us a penny, but rather a quarter.

Paraphrasing Forrest: "My friend shot a birdie on the fourth hole"
Now a fourth (two bits) of a dollar is a quarter.
You might want to look at it carefully and then look at the mojo SB.

                          Forrest tipped us a quarter.

Some pennies are quite valuable. A 1943 copper penny, for example, is typically worth tens of thousands of dollars. If one of these was left on a table as a tip, I probably wouldn't pay much attention to it, unless it was lying "wheat" side up. That would probably be noticeable to me, causing me to check the date. Regarding Forrest's "parting words", I consider them to indicate that the real hunt is not over for serious searchers. Even though I'm one, I skipped this last search season due to risk of catching Covid. But I expect to be back at it (searching, that is) in about half a year.

Old Pilot I'd like to find a "mule." quarter on one side and (usually) a Sac dollar on the other.
