I am confused. I just noticed there is someone who posts on Harry's named LostChaser. Whoever it is has been member of Harry's for over a year, so it doesn't make sense for them to be asking this MW question. Since I am not privileged to be a member of Harry's I wonder if anyone here who is a member might be familiar with LostChaser.

Nice find RG. I’m not a member either. He/she likes to post a lot of emojis. The mystery deepens. Someone’s got to know something.

There is only a very limited amount of time one can delete a post on Harry's and a couple of other requirements as well.

I don't know if the deletion window is a few short minutes or a few hours, but I do know that once someone likes a post or another post is made following it, a post can no longer be deleted. It may be that when a post is viewed that it can no longer be deleted. Probably Tapatalk has the post deletion rules posted somewhere, and any options a forum admin has in customizing post deletion rules, but I am too lazy to Google them.

Typically when a poster a Harry's wants to delete a post that is past the deletion window and cannot be deleted, the trick is to go back and edit the post to remove all of the text except for one character which is the minimum number of characters required. And asterisk * is usually used. But anything can be used to substitute for the original text, like say a smiley.

So LostChaser, who I do not know, probably deleted their original posts by editing them and changing them to a smiley rather than posting only a smiley in the first place. I would have noticed that. But I would likely have never known those posts were changed after I read them because I seldom go back and read posts a second time.

            So the mystery deepens, indeed...

              elperro and LurkerMike -
Thanks for checking on this. Maybe Jenny at MW knows who LostChaser is. This does seem to be a mystery.

Yes, that makes more sense now with the emojis. Thanks LM. Especially since many of the posts that are now just emojis have likes by others. LostChaser was specifically asked about the MW question and has not responded as of yet.
                Doornumber4 asked:
”LostChaser, someone on THOR asked about your question to ff. That person cannot comment here and I cannot comment there. Maybe you are on both blogs? The question had to do with how long you've been 'joined' on Harry's and the beginner question to ff.”
LostChaser’s other posts don’t sound like Fenn’s vocabulary and tone . . . but maybe LostChaser is Shiloh?

I looked at some of the posts that LostChaser didn't delete. In one recent post LostChaser says that he/she will be 80 years old this year. Based on another post I found it's possible that LostChaser is a woman. If all of this is true then LostChaser is definitely not Shiloh.

Good points. I clearly didn’t read enough posts! And define not a new searcher.

Then I guess we don't have to worry about LostChaser being the Lead Searcher. I doubt that a 70+ year-old woman is going to find the treasure.

I don't really know much about this LostChaser stuff, but interestingly in the language of Breton (Celtic native to France) lost means tail, TailChaser.

                        Noun: A tail.
                        https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/lost

                        It also means penis.

80 years old, good for her.

LostChaser: I've read your veiled responses on Harry's. Please humor me in my rabbit hole. If you could be so kind as to answer my humble question there. Did you then, or did you not author and submit that Featured Question yourself to Jenny on MW? Or, was the question and answer formulated by another, in response to your referenced March 19th post? Thank you so much in advance. As a side note ,why do yo post and then delete your comments?

The simple fact that f featured this question tells me LostChaser is lost. I bet there's something hint in this, but I highly doubt LostChaser is ahead of the pack.

Maybe he isn't lost - just misplaced.

Why the quarrelsome quibble with canines?
