  • Going off course here but it is MY thread.
    Need y'alls help.

Had a beautiful old big boy black lab (13 years old) that passed away right before Christmas. His name was Montana. It was his time.
Then last Friday, I had to put my Belgian Tervuren Shepherd down (9 1/2 years old). Her name was Sierra. It was NOT her time but the big C got a hold of her.
My heart broke. I swore - no more dogs as it is too hard to lose them.
But..........today, I am a proud owner of a little black rescue pup. 10 weeks old.
The Vet called the mother a Rodesian Ridgeback mix but several of the staff and myself felt like she was a Red Fox Lab. (Google that one)
She was a beautiful copper-colored lab. I intended to take her but she has an aversion to cats and that was not going to work considering I have two. Their names are Shiloh and MayLing.
So instead, I brought home this little girl. And the house doesn't feel empty any more.

Here is where you guys can help - SHE DOES NOT HAVE A NAME.
Nothing seems to suit her - the shelter named her Princess Leia but that isn't going to work.
So, any ideas you have would be greatly appreciated.

Had she been a he, his name was to be FENN.

    • It would help to see her, but what about Grace (o‘Malley) or (Anne) Bonney? Or Elizabeth „Lizzy“ Swan?

Tesuke would be good for girls as well, no?

We have started to name our pets after Star Trek characters... our actual cat is Dax, her brother was Tuvok.

      • I'm sorry that you had to put Sierra down early. It's hard losing family members, especially loyal companions and my heart goes out to you www. It's good to hear that you made room for another doggie in your family though!

Perhaps a Native American angle with the names?

I agree a pic could be helpful, no pressure

                    I'm thinking chance, homeward bound

If you want a chase related name how about
                    chaos?
K-Hoss might be a good handle, of course then folks might presume you're cousin to the queen and thus receiving Special K treatment.

                    • Names are a very personal thing. We use them to push back the curtain and make room for our hopes and dreams in the world. I’d want it to be a warm name, as the cold gives way to the hope for many more warm days to come. A month for marriages; the promise of screen porches; cool waters, hot dogs, and picnics.

                      June.

but names are a very personal thing.

it just means moon in Spanish
Thanks Willy - but that name's taken.
My daughter just got an Austrailian shepherd and that's her name.
The pups will be playing together so two-moons would be too much.
                        LOL

                              • How about ‘Sesame’ like, ‘open says ami’, the key phrase? Or pirate? What a cutie, btw. Star eyes on a night sky.
