Anecdote is not data. Also, weather is not climate, and in any large data series variation is distributed around a mean, usually in some bell curve. The tails of that distribution curve reflect the low probability inputs in that series. Scale the series to the time period you're interested in understanding and find out where your "lately" falls on the curve. There's your answer.

I can help there. Climate change, it happens no matter what. Throughout history the planet has warmed and cooled thousands of times. Our lifespan is just a blink in time compared to the age of the planet. Our planet has been on a warming trend for thousands of years. We have only been able to notice a few inches of water rise and that rate is too much according to the normal process of this planet. This is the indication that we are helping the process and changing our planet in an abnormal way.
You will see even more snow in the future. This comes with the amount of moisture in the air. As all of the ice is melting and evaporating into the clouds, it creates the perfect mixture for extreme weather events. Moisture and heat, and cold. Along with that comes the fresh water desalinizing the oceans and trapping the mixture for long periods of time in these extreme pole conditions. So we get more clouds with plenty of water in them. Have you noticed on the news that locals always say they have never seen it like this before? That is because this will be a new experience for everyone. Hotter summers and colder winters. Extreme weather events will get even more extreme. It is the planet warming, not your local town.

One guy said that ocean levels categorically cannot rise because an increase in ocean water volume would just force water to penetrate into the ocean floor and counteract a sea level rise. As such, any measured increase in sea level rise is Fake! News!, something to do with George Soros, or Satan, or Obama.
